Where are you going?

If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.
-Yogi Berra

Great quote by one of most quotable sports figures of all time.  I find goal setting has really helped me, in my personal life, my business and especially in triathlon and in my running. I still find it strange that most people don’t set goals. It’s almost like driving around with no destination. Where are you supposed to go/turn?

Again, it’s all about moderation. You don’t want to set goals for every activity and part of your life because soon life will not be very fun and you will not have many friends left!

Setting goals creates a map for your life and/or activities. It helps you focus on stuff that’s really important. How do you finish your first 10k? Well first you have start running. And then increase mileage slowly so you can get to the finish line with a smile! Sometimes it’s that simple…

I will touch upon this topic next week so more but for now I’ll leave you with another great quote about goal setting that I really enjoy:

Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement.
-Brian Tracy
